I had a very 'sweet' weekend! What made it so sweet was the lovely package I received in the mail from an awesome local vendor by the name of Sweet Lydia's. Working with Lydia to pull together this fabulous interview happened so quickly, and I'm glad I had a chance to chat with her about the yummy marshmallowy treats that she offers as wedding favors to bridal besties. I literally fell into a self-induced chocolate and marshmallow coma after sinking my teeth into her wedding favors...my fave: the peanut butter s'mores! Pure heaven.

The Bridal BFF: First things first, what is your most 'delish' treat to whip up in the kitchen?
Sweet Lydia's: There might not be anything better than The Original S'more, vanilla marshmallow on honey graham and covered in milk chocolate. The two newer products I am offering, Sugar Cookie S'mores and Pretzel Kabooms, are really popular because they are sweets unlike anything else you've ever had. I love the sweet and salty combo of pretzels and chocolate and the Kabooms are a step above chocolate covered pretzels with vanilla marshmallow, either caramel or peanut butter, milk chocolate, chocolate drizzle and rainbow sprinkles. My personal favorite were pumpkin spice marshmallow I made this fall that should make a come back this year.
The Bridal BFF: Tell me a little bit about the vision of your company, Sweet Lydia's?
Sweet Lydia's: For years I would bake more than I could eat and I'd ship the left-overs in care-packages to family and friends. When people started paying me to ship my goodies, I figured I'd make a business out of it. I love the feeling of giving a great gift to someone you love; the best part of my job is hearing from a happy customer who sent a package to someone and the recipient loved it. Not only do I get to share with the joy of the recipient but I share in the joy of the giver. Making wedding and party favors is a great way to share in the spirit of celebration with the customers I serve.
The Bridal BFF: Now, the extent of my baking abilities includes Pillsbury chocolate chip cookie dough and my faithful cookie sheet! Tell me about some of
the flavors and ingredients you enjoy cooking with?
Sweet Lydia's: I clearly have a thing for marshmallows. I love working with fresh ingredients and incorporating them into marshmallows. I have 6 varieties of marshmallows that use fresh fruit that I juice or puree to order. When I am not making marshmallows for Sweet Lydia's, I am baking Heath Bar blondies or apple pie.
The Bridal BFF: What can potential clients expect from Sweet Lydia's?
Sweet Lydia's: The first thing customers can expect is a delicious sweet favor that their guests will enjoy and remember. While everything is available for purchase online, I offer a personal customizing service for clients. I will work directly with customers who order online through email, on the phone or in person to make sure their order is filled exactly the way they want it.
The Bridal BFF: I have a feeling Sweet Lydia's will soon be a household name. What is in your sights for the future?
Sweet Lydia's: A friend asked me if the s'more is on its way to being the new cupcake. While my business is no where near cupcake status, I would love to grow and continue sharing s'mores with all who want to give some sweetness to the ones they love.
