Cooking with The Gourmet Diva!

(Yummy Strawberry Champagne Cupcakes by The Gourmet Diva!)

Happy Monday bridal besties! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. We got snow here in Boston over the weekend and there is a crisp chill in the air...winter has finally arrived!

Winter is a great time for entertaining! It could be the perfect time to get your bridesmaids together for an evening of fun and I have just the 'diva' to help you with your entertaining needs! I've befriended the talented Keesha O'Galdez of The Gourmet Diva via Twitter...she has some serious skills when it comes to the kitchen! After exchanging a few tweets, I knew she would be a perfect fit for my bridal besties who will be learning the art of entertaining before your big day! I chatted with her about life as The Gourmet Diva and here is what she told The Bridal BFF:

The Bridal BFF: First things first, what is your most 'divalicious' dish to whip up in the kitchen?

The Gourmet Diva: My favorite dish is a “ Roasted Salmon with a Mustard Crust”(basically its a grilled fillet of salmon topped with a honey mustard sauce and panko bread crumbs) with a side of sauteed spinach. Its simple to make and I usually serve it at dinner parties with a roasted pear and goat cheese salad. I can't forget about dessert! Its the luck of the draw of what I want to experiment with.

The Bridal BFF: Tell me a little bit about the vision of your company, The Gourmet Diva?

The Gourmet Diva: Currently, the Gourmet Diva™ is a Boston, MA based catering company broadly recognized for specializing in two answers to prominent catering questions – What happens before the meal and after the meal? We’re known for “Spirited and Classic Desserts” and Gourmet Education - Kitchen Coaching lessons on You Tube.

My long term vision is to turn Gourmet Diva into the next Martha Stewart of B. Smith for the modern aged person and to offer more cooking classes/activities. Food that is hip, trendy and fun!

The Bridal BFF: Now, the extent of my baking abilities includes Pillsbury chocolate chip cookie dough and my faithful cookie sheet! Tell me about some of the flavors and ingredients you enjoy cooking with?

The Gourmet Diva: {Laughing} You can do a lot with your Pilsbury chocolate chip cookie dough! Look at this recipe for a Chocolate Chip Peanut butter Torte. It's all about taking what you know and kicking it up a notch. Have a girls night in and make cookies. I like to make cooking enjoyable for folks, thats the void I want to fill – to empower people to cook and entertain.

I like cooking with different liquors and wines, I like to see how I can incorporate my favorite drinks into desserts.

The Bridal BFF: What can potential clients expect from The Gourmet Diva?

The Gourmet Diva: Desserts and dishes that stand out and made a statement. If something is not on the menu I like to work with them to create something to their liking. Just tell me your favorite foods and what you expect to taste

The Bridal BFF: I have a feeling The Gourmet Diva will soon be a household name. What is in your sights for the future?

The Gourmet Diva: Just like The Bridal BFF, When people hear “Gourmet Diva” the first thing that comes to mind is sophistication and fun at an affordable price
